Nee, 1996 Cayo District: Near Ix-Chel Farm, 8 km (by air) S of San Ignacio, west side of the Macal River. Limestone hills with old secondary forest. 17°06’N, 89°04’W. Shrub 4 m. tall, with three 4.5 cm. diameter stems from the base. Common in and at edges of mature secondary forest. Spikes erect, pale yellowish, then green. Growing with P. pseudofuligineum, P. neesianum, P. jacquemontianum and P. pseudolindenii, and with P. aduncum rare in open brushy roadsides. Coll: M. Nee 24 May 19% 04127940
