Nee, 2018 MICHIGAN, Gogebic Co., Ottawa National Forest, opposite Taps Lake trailhead along Forest Road 8100. 46°18’22”N, 89°45’13”W. alt. 480 m. Bog with Sphagnum, Ledum groenlandicum, Chamaedaphne calyculata, Sarracenia purpurea, Eriophorum, with scattered and stunted Picea mañana, Larix laricina and with Nemopanthus mucronata, Ilex verticillata at lower edge of wooded slope. Common, forming irregularly branched clumps or patches to 0.8 m. tall; stems all not straight and none erect, to 0.8 cm. in diameter, perhaps to 8 years old but growth rings difficult to see. Voucher for wood specimens at Kw, Lw, MADw, RSAw. Flowers odorless (noon, sunny); flowers white. Coll.: M. H. Nee 64221 4 June 2018 Missouri Botanical Garden (MO) 04127028
