Maarten J. M. Christenhusz 2004 St. Thomas. Ridge above highest point of Cuna-Cuna Pass, leading towrds Lookout Bump. Open shrubland and secondary forest on steep ridge. Large terrestrial orchid to 80 cm tall, with large palm like leafs in a basal rosette. Flowers ± 8 - 9 cm wide. Tepals white outside, copper-brown inside. Bract green.
