MICHIGAN, Gogebic Co., Co. Hwy 513 at railroad crossing,
1 6 km (by air) NW of Hwy. 2 intersection in Bessemer.
46°30,35”N, 90°03’58.5”W. alt. 647 m.
Somewhat swampy flat area. Large shrub 3.5 m. tall, 15
ars old, with many arching stems in a clump. Voucher for
wood specimens at Kw, Lw, MADw, MEXUw, RSAw,
this stem 5 cm. in diameter. Flowers odorless (1:00 P.M.,
sunny), the shrub buzzing with bees; corolla white, perhaps
fading to pale yellow but this not obvious. Uncommonly
seen naturalized in thè Bessemer area.
