us U.S.A. Ericaceae Chamaedaphne calyculata (L.) Moench det. M. Nee, 2018 MICHIGAN, Gogebic Co., Ottawa National Forest, opposite Taps Lake trailhead along Forest Road 8100. 46° 18’22”N, 89°45’ 13”W. alt. 480 m. Bog with Sphagnum, Ledum groenlandicum, Chamaedaphne calyculata, Sarracenia purpurea, Eriophorum, with scattered and stunted Picea mariana, Larix laricina and with Nemopanthus mucronata, Ilex verticillata at lower edge of wooded slope. Shrublets to 0.8 m. tall, forming clumps or patches; to 0.9 cm. and to perhaps 9 years old but growth rings very difficult to see. Voucher for wood specimens at Kw, Lw, MADw, RSAw.
