43°18’30”N, 90°19’37”W. alt. 275 m.
Ridgetop woods (over upper Cambrian sandstone): Quercus
rubra, Q. alba, Ulmus rubra, Ostrya virginiana, Tilia
americana.
Tree 12 m. tall, 15 cm. in diameter, 36 years old. Bark
finely furrowed and flaky. Voucher for wood specimens at
Kw, Lw, MADw, MEXUw, RSAw. Inflorescence hanging,
dry and light tan.
