PLANTS OF FLORIDA Piperaceae Peperomia rotundifolia (L.) Kunth BOTANICAL NEW YORK BOTANICAL GARDEN 04113584 Collier County: Big Cypress National Preserve. Gator Hook Strand. Ca. 1.13 miles east of Loop Road (SR 94), ca. 0.73 miles north of Monroe County line, ca. 3.26 miles south of US 41. Abundant on four Fraxinus carolinianus and two Chrysobalanus icaco in deep area of strand swamp, bordering a small pond. Plants growing from just above the water line into the canopy, drooping off of horizontal branches. Discovered by Tony Pemas a few weeks earlier. Epidendrum rigidum, E. difforme, E. noctumum, Peperomia obtusifolia, Maxillaria crassifolia, and Asplenium serratum also near this remote, pristine station. N25° 48.845'; W81° 04.918'. Keith A.
