SAXIFRAGACEAE Ribes missouriense Nutt.
Shrub 2 m. tall, heavily pruned by grazing of cattle
into a dense rounded clump ca. 3 m. in diameter. This
species is very tenacious under heavy grazing pressure
and some of these clumps have changed little in size
or vigor in the last 25 years. Sepals reflexed, yellow-
green, tinged with dark pink; petals and filaments
greenish white.
Pasture slope, W-facing, full sun, with scattered
Zanthoxylum americanum.
