Shrub varying from 4-10 feet tall; stems

in diam.; corolla white, fragrant, not
hairy within as in Cinchona; leaves
firmly membranaceous, pale olive green
above, buff-green below, nerves and

with pale brown or buff-brown haies as
also on fruit and floral bracts«
