Collection Notes
[A.A. Reznicek, 2023: 1840 seems likely to be the year of receipt of the specimen. Neither Wright nor Bull were with the First Survey in 1840. However, in 1839, George H. Bull made an excursion of his own into southeast Michigan, collecting a number of wetland plants at Pontiac June 8, 1839. This specimen was likely gathered by Bull on this date. Liparis loeselii was gathered by Wright and Bull in 1838, but this is not a duplicate, as the 1838 collection was made much later, on Aug. 23. See: McVaugh, R. 1970. Botanical Results of the Michigan Geological Survey under the Direction of Douglass Houghton, 1837-1840. Michigan Botanist 9: 213-243.]
