Close to the main road running S from
Ciudad Valles towards Tamazunchale,
about 3km from Valles.
Small slender upright tree to 4m ht.
Bark greenish grey, smooth but with
raised orange-brown or pale grey
lenticels arranged in semaphore
lines, inner bark green. Leaves
slightly discolourous, mid green
above paler below. Flowers on erect
terminal inflorescences opening
acropetally. Flowers faintly scented,
calyx yellow green, petals bright
yellow, the standard faintly streaked
orange at the base, yellow or orange
glands at base of petals, stamens and
style yellow green, hairy, anthers
mid yellow brown. No pods.
Abundant in secondary vegetation by
the roadside with Guazuma ulmifolia,
Acacia, Leucaena pulverulenta and
Tabebuia
