Distribution
J0 \ i Shrub 1.5 m. tall in weedy lot. Flowers erect, light green; sepals reflexed; petals recurved; stamens and style erect-arching. Flowers with unpleasant odor (characteristic of bat pollination?), visited at 6:00 P.M. by large black bee which sometimes crawls down stamens to probe at outside of lower part of calyx tube, penetrating and drinking the copious nectar, but often driven away by the ants which inhabit the plant.
