No. 7975, collected June 5, on a wet bank along the rail-
road near Shasta Retreat, Siskiyou county. The plants ajre un-
usually small, only about 2 dm. high, and at first were not rec-
ognized. The elevation is about 2400 feet. The original sta-
tions are “on the subalpine regions of the Blue and Rocky
Mountains. Douglas. Columbia River, about Fort Vancouver.
Dr. ScouterThe latter station is comparatively near sea
level, showing a great altitudinal range. It occurs almost
throughout California in damp or wet places in the hills and
mountains.
