GRAY HERBARIUM Plants of Venezuela Amazonas NEW YORK BOTANICAL GARDEN 04083923 Micrandra siphonioides Bentham Enormous columnar tree, 110 ft. tall, diameter 8^-4 ft., basally slightly buttressed. Bark rough, 1 inch thick, peeling easily from wood, externally dark reddish brown, internally red. Latex very thick, white, not abundant, coagulating to good rubber. Flowers fra- grant (odor of burnt cinnamon), yellow. Fruit small. Leaves charta- ceous, wood white; heart wood red, very hard. Rio Negro.
