Taraxacum officinale Webber
Herb with tap root, milfcy sap. Leaf herbaceous,
deep green above, lighter grey-green below, midrib
below and hollow petiole tinged purple. Peduncle
hollow tinged with purple. Involucre bracts green, dark
Durple-brown at tips. Ovary light green. Corolla tube
white at base, yellow above; corolla lobes of inner flowers
vellow throughout, outermost ligulate flowers tinged
brown abaxially. Stamens yellow. Style branches initially
vellow-green. Common weed in lawns and disturbed
roadsides. Introduced from Europe.
