otherwise erect; occasional in recently cleared, partially
shaded sendero through post oak - yaupon forest on level
upland underlain by Carrizo Sand, on soils mapped as deep,
well drained, slightly acid fine sand (Silstid Series, Arenic
Paleustalfs), SW part of Hogan Ranch, ca. 4.3-4.4 airmiles
SW of jet. St. Rt. 304 and St. Rt. 713 at Delhi, at
N29°47’52.6”, W097°27’40.6”. Elev. ca. 540 ft.
Associates included Bouteloua curtipendula (introduced), Croton capitatus,
Eragrostis spectabilis, Ilex vomitoria, Juniperus virginiana, Liatris elegans
var. carrizana, Palafoxia hookeriana, Quercus stellata, Sorghastrum nutans
(introduced), Tridens flavus.
