FLORA OF THE AUSTRALIAN MONSOON TROPICS

Collected from cultivated plants at Bucknell University research
greenhouse. Grown from seed harvested from type locality, CTM
4226(15 May 2016):
Australia: Northern Territory: Limmen National Park: 3.7 km south
of Lorella Springs turnoff on Nathan River Road 15.94913° S,
135.53464° E. Elevation 246 ft. Eucalyptuspruinosa Low Open
Woodland on seasonally-flooded alluvial plain fringes (above
seasonal streams) and plains; grey-brown clay with limestone stones
and laterite pebbles. Ripe fruits whitish yellow, medium to very firm,
slightly wider than long (ca. 1.75 x 1.7 cm). Leaf sinuses
conspicuously deep, corolla medium to light purple. Individuals ca.
25-45 cm in height. Apparently disturbance adapted, also occurring
along roadside. Associated taxa: Melaleuca nervosa, Dodonaea
physocarpa, Dolichodandrone heterophylla, Grewia retusifolia,
Carissa lanceolata, Eulalia aurea, Calandrinia gracilis, herbs and
grasses.
