Short forest and "cerradao" alternating on
nearly level terrain over precambrian shield;
most trees less than 12 m. tall, with Scheelea
and Orbignya palms.
Slender, few-branched, 4 m. tall; branches in
whorls; sap milky. Fruit only, green, with
bright orange ring at base.
