Arid thorn scrubland on slopes and brushy edges of
irrigated fields in the valley bottom, with Ruprechtia
triflora, Bougainvillea campanulata, B. berberidifolia,
Capparis speciosa, Pereskia diaz-romeroana, Cleistocactus
candelilla, Quiabentia verticillata.
Shrub 2.5 m. tall, 15 cm. in diameter. Bark coppery, peeling
and curling. Inflorescence green and reddish. Immature fruit
green, winged.
