Cordillera, 8 km by road ENE of Comunidad Salinas. Grazed chaco scrub in bottom of valley and gentle slopes, downstream continuation of Cañón del Zapallar, the stream bed now completely dry. Prosopis alba, Caesalpinia par aguar iensis, Cestrum parqui, Achatocarpus praecóx, Capparis retusa, C. speciosa, Opuntia spp. 20°12’S, 63°24’W. alt. 830 m. Shrub 3 m. tall, 10 cm. in diameter, with few branches. Sap watery. Flower buds with red on petals on outside, the petals pale yellowish within when open.
