Jatropha cordata (Ortega) Maell. Arg,
Barranca of Rio Verde, ca. 20 miles north oí Tepatitlán on road
to Yahualica; steep wooded ravines above the river, elevation ca.
1450 m.
Abundant on exposed grassy hills on bluffs
north of river.
Tree to U-5 m. high, 10-15 can, diam., with
yellowish peeling papery hark and clear
yellow sticky juice; fruit 2-carpellate;
plant probably dioecious.
