Brazil. Acre. Santa Rosa do Purus Mun. Rio Chambuiacu, right-bank tributary of Rio Purus defining border with Peru. Water 1-2m below maximum, ca. 30m across at mouth but only 8m wide 3 km from mouth.

Habitat
Undulating terrain, forest regenerating from Guadua bamboo die-back several years ago. Canopy open, relatively few trees, dense understory, many vines and lianas. Rare. Poorly drained soils.

Tree. Tree 7m, inflorescences pendent, cupule (calyx) green, fruit yellow. Photo. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
