The soil is normally sandy dark brown, quite humid and rich in humus. Tropical environment with an annual average of 27°C temp. ( at ISO m. of altitude) and 3500 mm. of rain with high humidity and a dry season from December IS till March IS (with rain at least once a week). Fruit is not edible and firewood not good. It is a game animal food for parrot (Amazon sp.), kinkajou, paca, agouti, spider monkey, toucan, and many medium size birds. Its heart is used as house pillar for langhouses. Fruit is called yiogbogbda. Plant collected 3 km. W of Saimadodyi (9*36*N-72*55'W), Elev. 180 m. Leg.: M.
