Description
Perennials from hard tuberous roots. Stems several from the same root, green, branched, 2 to 3 feet high. Leaves limp, early wilting, somewhat paler beneath; flower nodding, odorless, the involucral calyx green; petals light yellow except the dark purple base; staminoidal tube creamy white with yellowish anthers; pistil dark red; old capsules 1 inch long. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
