Along ridge from just above Kupuna road leading
to Pohakupili. Stunted forest dominated by
Dicranopteris and Metrosideros. Elev. 2100-2600
ft.
Sprawling shrub of four ft. Leaves semi-glossy
green, somewhat chlorotic above with maroon midrib
and maroon tinged lateral veins, below whitish-
green to pale green with maroon cast on younger
leaves; newest leaves maroon; cyatheal glands
maroon. With Syzygium, Metrosideros, Antidesma
and Psychotria.
