Habitat
Primary forest in low-lying area ("baixio") shallowly dissected by many small streams. Soils sandy in many places, but drainage poor in many spots.

Description
Terrestrial herb. Erect succulent herb to 30 cm, leaves variegated (green center bordered by two white stripes, margin green), inflorescences terminal, buds blue. In bud at 8 a.m., flowers passed by 4 p.m. One population seen in shade on sandy slope above stream. Phenology of specimen: Fertile.
