Pandanus tectorius, Metrosideros polymorpha, Diospyros sandwicensis,
Santalum, and Bobea mixed with Clusia, Schefflera actinophylla, and Psidium
guajaba. Clidemia hirta and Dicranopteris linearis dominant ground cover.
Shrub 1.5 m tall. Prominent nodes, opposite leaves, stems green towards
tips, fertilized ovaries reddish, drying when ripe.
