Chaya (Dayak) at Duogu Cun along tributary of Mai Qu (Mai
River), a major tributary of the Lancang Jiang (Upper Mekong
River). 30°41’43"N, 97°30'45"E; 3210-3300 m. Dry slopes and
steep walled, badly eroded canyons leading into tributary.
Dominant shrubs Sophora davidii, Caragana and Rosa. Shaley soil
at bottom of ravine. Stems red, with milky sap when bruised;
cupule red; glands white; ovary green.
