Mimika Regency, PT-Freeport Indonesia Concession Area: Pulau
Puriri, a small island at the mouth of the Aikwa Estuary.
Coastal forest and swamp at back of mangroves.
Altitude: 0001m.
Growing on tall Casuarina in coastal forest, 3m above ground.
Veins dark with plain line along each side possibly an extension of
the wing. Stipe 3.5 - 12cm. Infertile base of frond to 97 cm long
(86 - 106cm). Average length of fertile region 110 cm (97 -
120cm). Infertile apical tip with average length 14.6 cm (9.5 - 22
cm). In cross section basal infertile zone along main vein c. 4cm
long (3.3-4.8), sori to 6.9 cm long (3.4-5.6). Outer infertile region c.
0.3cm (0.2-0.6cm). DNA collection. Main vein to 7mm wide above
and protruding c. 6mm below with flat lower surface.
