44_8: Euphorbia candelabrum Trem. ex Kotschy
Habitat: Hill top \ mile W of Nyamirembe road, with big
rockboulders and a very dense vegetation of tall trees,
covered with epiphytes, and as such reminiscent of a
rainforest. Only a small area looks like this. The do-
minating vegetation type is woodland or wooded grass-
land, with scattered trees and a cover of grass regene-
rating after fire. This species is growing in the open
woodland.
Description: Tree, 6 m tall, branching from 3 m up the
trunk. Branches persistent leaving the trunk in a poin-
ted angel so that the entire tree looks like a wine
glass. Bark grey, with deep cracks.
