Description
Pileus 4-5 cm broad, convex, dry, black, matted tomentose to areolate at margin in one and then with white between areoles. Flesh white, changing to reddish orange then black when exposed, up to 1 cm thick. Tubes depressed around stipe, gray, reddish orange then black when exposed, 1 cm long; pores concolorous, staining likewise, up to 1 mm broad. Stipe 7-11 cm long, 5-8 mm broad, equal, curved, dry, black, wooly tomentose; interior white, staining as in pileus. Phenology of specimen: Basidiomata.
