Floodplain forest dominated by mixed hardwoods (Acer rubrum, Betula lenta, Carpinus, Carya, Liquidambar, Liriodendron, Nyssa, Ostrya) with sparse conifers (pinus strobus, Tsuga) and herbaceous understory with Arundinaria. corticolous on exposed Acer rubrum.
