Flora of Bolivia Family: Pontederiaceae Eichhomia azurea (Sw.) Kunth Determined by: N. Ritter (NHA), 1997 Department of Santa Cruz Province of Herman Busch Laguna Caceras, below the town of Puerto Suarez. Elevation: ca. 120 m. Approximate center of the collecting area: 18°53'19"S. 57°51'00"W. Aquatic herb, with inflated, floating petioles. Abundant. Flowers purple with a yellow patch. Habitat: a large floating mat of aquatic vegetation, with abundant Eichhomia azurea, Pontederia rotundifolia, Limnobium laevigatum, V^v-^ Oxycaiyum cubense and various grasses.
