Dear Mr. Topping:
With the better material you sent of your number 1349
Philippines
from fffy(pjf, Mr. Clausen identified it as Qphloglossum nudlcaule
Borneo
var. tenerum (Mett) R.T.Claus. Number 1636 from fifat
is 0. petiolatum Hooker.
Since returning from the trip with Wherry, I have been too
busy at the office to do much botanizing although last Sunday I
found the largest and finest colony of Athyrium pycnocarpon I
ever saw. It is on a branch of the Severn River not far from
Annapolis. There are lots of fruiting fronds which seems to be
unusual with that species* In the satoe gully were also very fine
specimens of A* thelypteroides, although this is not rare.
Sincerely vours,
