Dear Mr. Toppiag:-
Thank you very much for your /Letter and I will certainly
appreciate your inquiring among your botanist friends if any
of them have ferns to exchange.
The Mr. Benedict at Woodside was, and still is, my father
and is still living in the same, house. At th&f time he was
in the Division of Marine Invertebrates in the Nat» Museum,
He is now 78 and retired.
Yes, I do belong to the Fern Society and always enjoy readini
the Journal. I have been on a number of field trips with Dr.
Edgar T. Wherry who used to write frequently about ferns. He is
new monographing the genus Phlox (eventually will include all
Polemoniaceae) and does not have much time to devote to ferns.
