Small tufts in red «oil amongst bowlder* along densely »haded banks of the Pauala river at 1500 feet; rootstocks short, ramifying, quite rigid dull brown and usually covered with similarly colored hairs; stipes mainly ascending from the base, terete, shining brown, easily breaking, at the base covered with hairs of a similar color; rachis similar; fronds recurred and subpendu- lous, long than the stipes; pinnae flat, facing the light, pleasing green above, paler beneath, quite rigid* sori along the upper edge mainly; *£ocda«na-ma-intig;* Magallanes, May, 1910.
