cation of this species as identical with the later E.
Preslii Guss. has recently been verified (acc. Dr. A.
Thellung in litt.) by Dr. E. Bonnet through a critical
reexamination of an authentic specimen in the
Cosson Herbarium.

Suberect or much inclined but never prostrate.
Variable as to spotting of the leaves.
Very abundant in grassy places, but chiefly in
loosened soil along open roadsides, Bloomington,
Illinois.
