Range. Fertile moist loam and humus over
metamorphic-igneous rock.
Mesic to wet subtropical rainforest [moist to wet
sclerophyll forest with rainforest understory] apparently
dominated by Eucalyptus acmenoides, Eucalyptus
grandis, and E. biturbinata. Selectively logged forest
near top margin of slopes of ridgeline. Little direct
sunlight. Common tree fern, rachis rough but not
prickly, dark-brown; trunks to ca. 2 meters tall; most
juvenile.
