Field char: Tree 15 m tall, dbh 20 cm. Leaves
dull dark green on both surfaces. Fruit mostly
single, globose, 3-4 cm diameter, brown-silvery
hairy. Petiole jointed on both sides.
Notes: Undentorey tree.
Locality: Sumatra: Sekundur Forest Reserve, E.
side of Gunung Leuser Natural Park, Langkat,
Prov. of North Sumatra. Base camp at Aras
Napal, upper Besitang River area.
Habitat: Primary forest on undulating land;
yellowish mixed sand-loam soil, well
drained,
