R 21W, SW% sec. 16.) Low hills and washes
with oak woodland with a grassy understory;
Quercus emoryi, arizonica, Bouteloua curti-
pendula, Juniperus deppeana. & JugIans major
were common. Stony soil.
A fairly common, erect, 3 ft. perennial;
flowers red-orange.
