Plants of Arizona ARIZONA STATE UNIVERSITY Sphaeralcea emoryi Torr. ex Gray Family: Malvaceae Arizona, Cochise Co.; San Pedro Riparian National Conservation Area, Upper San Pedro River floodplain. Palominas site, approximately 2 miles south of HWY 92., N 31° 21.492' , W 110° 7.434' 3900 ft. 1189 m. Habitat: Riparian. Mature cottonwood forest.. Associated spp: Populus fremontii, Elymus canadensis, Brickellia floribunda, Ambrosia psilostachya, Morus microphylla, Salix exigua, Sporobolus wightii, Sorghum halepense,. Notes: Perennial, flowers reddish-orange, infrequent-occasional. Voucher specimen for botanical inventory of San Pedro Riparian National Conservation Area.
