straight-line km SSE of La Laguna, Ver.; granite range, steep
ridge exposed to wind, with irregular cloud forest 10-15 m tall
of Quercus skinneri, diverse Lauraceae, Matayba apétala,
Laplacea grandis, Pithecellobium, Calophyllum, and much
Reinhardtia elegans in the understory.

Infrequent terrestrial fern; petiole ca 68 cm, blade
120 cm with ca 36 pairs of alternate pinnae, petiole and
raquis with spines; scales of 2 types.
Field-treated in Calzada’s solution (50%ethanol + scant formalin)
