(by dirt road) NE of Abra de Quine ["Quinal" on some maps]. 18°04’S, 64°19’30"W. alt. 2100 m. Shrubland on slopes, grazed, upper limit of arid woodlands (Harrisia tephracantha, Capparis speciosa], with Dodonaea viscosa. Voucher for wood specimen, MADw 48084. Slender shrublets, few-branched, several stems in a tight clump; sap orange. Spikes arching; male flowers odorless, pale yellow-green, fully open (9:30 A.M., sunny). Coll.: M.
