Open forest with palms on high terraces only occasionally dissected by streams. No presence of taboca (Guadua palm). Rare.

epiphyte. Epiphytic climbing shrub 12-15m in tree, calyx and corolla and fruits (immature) orange. Phenology of specimen: Flower, Fruit.
