reserve (70° 45‘ W. , 8o 15’ N.). Secondary
forest.
Shrub-treelet, 3 ni tall. Branches,
twigs and petiols exuding a. sticky, colourless
slime. Leaves papery, dull, medium green a-
bove, paler beneath. Perianth of female
flowers pale green. Ovary pale green. Calyx
of male flowers greenish. Petals white,with
undulate and shortly fimbriate margin. Anthers',
cream-coloured. Woodsample from a stem.
