Community College, at margin of amphitheater parking
lot; east of US Rt. 199 exit. Elev. 950 ft. Disturbed,
periodically wet clay-loam.
Evergreen Pseudotsuga forest with Pinus,
Toxicodendron, Rhododendron occidentale. Secondary
forest and periodically wet meadow clearing with
Rubus, Wyethia. Very local, common perennial herb
1-1.5 m tall, short rootstock, not clonal; bristly-hirsute,
stems 3-6 branched, dried; in meadow (now dry). Most
leaves (basal) dried, gone. At maturity the entire fruit ca
fall and attach to clothing (rather than individual
mericarps).
