Plants of MEXICO Polypodium piatylepis Mett. Epiphytic in moss caipets on trunks and limbs of trees. OAXACA: SE slopes of Cerro San Felipe along Mex. Hwy. 175 to Ixtlan de Juarez, 1.8 km below (S of) road summit at La Cumbre, 2k km by road (at jet. with Hwy. 190) and 1^+ kin by air NE of Oaxaca (17 08'N, 96 38'W). Pine-Oak forest on steep E- and W-facing ravine sides, with Oreopanax xalapense & epi- phytic fungi, mosses, lichens .& ferns; shrub layer with Rubus trilobusy Mormina xalapense, Comarostaphylis, Fuchsia cf. enoliandra; ground layer with Stellariay Cuphea oyaneaa Chimaphila3 Gaultheria3 Stachys coccinea in deep peaty mulch.
