foothills of the Volcan de Colima; clay soils on steep vol-
canic slopes and alluvial flats; natural vegetation humid
montane (cloud) forest, but partially cleared for pasture,
etc. Colima/Jalisco line passes through ranch. (Near 103°
42'W, 19°27’N.) Elev.1300 m. Ca. 500 m NE of Lago Ja-
bali, at the jet of road to L. Epazote w/road to L. Jabali.
With Ficus. Common perennial; on steep cliff. Fronds I m
long; sporangia orange.
