Marsh in floodplain of Pine River, tussocks of Carex,
shrubs of Salix eriocephala, S. bebbiana, with Betula
papyrifera, Pinus strobus and a few young Larix laricina.
Shrub 3 m. tall, of many slender stems to 1.9 cm. in
diameter and 5 years old, in a clump, and grown together
with other clumps of this species. Voucher for wood
specimens at Kw, Lw, MADw, RSAw. Pistillate; catkins
green; similar in habit to Nee 63490 S. eriocephala, but
more robust and pistillate catkins green.
