km W of Liberty (a crossroads with a couple of buildings).

Large marsh in floodplain of West Fork Kickapoo River,
along S side of Hwy. 56, with shrub Salix eriocephala and a
few large S. cf. xfragilis.
Shrubs 4.5 m. tall, much-branched, with three trunks this
size, to 18 cm. in diameter at base,. Voucher for wood
specimens at Kw, Lw, MADw, RSAw; this specimen from
a much smaller upright branch, 7.5 cm. in diameter, ca. 14
years old, the larger stems with much decay. Staminate;
much more conspicuous when blooming than the pistillate,
Nee 63387.
